With  conscious connected breathing, the IBT method sets itself apart from other types of breathwork with its corrective experience.

You are always in control of your experience and every experience is unique to each individual.

Christine's role is to facilitate breathwork sessions using the Integral Breath Therapy Model developed by Carol Lampman, founder of Integration Concept, based in Arizona, USA. Professionally trained by Di Riseborough, a qualified registered psychotherapist & certified IBT Educator, Integral Breath Therapy (Somatic Breathwork) is applied to holistically heal the body, mind, and spirit. She has also ​acquired  a Vulnerable Sector Background Check & basic CPR/First Aid Certification.

What is Integral Breath Therapy?

 

The IBT framework emphasizes energy principles like grounding, presence, clearing, opening, self-awareness and compassion.

 

At its core, Integral Breath Therapy (IBT is a therapeutic technique centered  in using circular, conscious connected breathing. Through these controlled breathing patterns, individuals are guided into non-ordinary states of consciousness. It has been referred to as an alternative to  using psilocybin, where one can achieve a very similar experience. This intentional shift in awareness is designed to help access ones inner wisdom to work through mental, emotional, or physical blockages, ultimately contributing to a release of stored stress, an exploration of their inner selves, and enhanced healing and well-being.

 

The subconscious mind will only bring into awareness what you are ready to heal or release.

Are there contraindications to consider before engaging in this type of breathwork?

 

This type of breathwork is a safe  and natural healing technique that uses intentional breathing patterns to promote healing on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels, however there are some conditions that require special considerations. Due to associated medical concerns regarding the following conditions, Christine  is unable to provide breathwork facilitation.

  • You are pregnant or suspect you are pregnant

  • Glaucoma

  • Untreated High blood pressure

  • Severe cardiovascular problems

  • Epilepsy/seizures

  • Recent surgery or serious injury.

  • Have a diagnosis of Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Dissociative Identity Disorder or Psychosis.

***If you have any concerns in regards to your ability to participate in breathwork,  please seek the advice of your primary care physician. ***

 

What to expect during your first breath session?

​

Once you book first session, Christine will contact you via email and attach an intake form to fill out  which is then either email back to Christine, or brought to your first session.

  • In the first half hour, the intake form is reviewed together with Christine, she will go over the principles of IBT and any questions you may have. She will then guide you through the process of  formulating  a clear intention. 

​​

  • Next, you will be guide in practicing conscious connected circular breath and the breathwork process.  Christine will ensure you are lying down comfortability, and will have everything necessary on hand to provide the support you need during your session.

​

  • You will then begin your full breathwork session which will last one hour.

 

  • What emerges during a session varies, Integral Breathwork is a highly individualistic experience. You can never predict what will arise or what will be needed ahead of time. Leaving all preexisting expectations at the door and surrendering to the process will open up the opportunity for your breathwork to occur naturally. ​Within all of us is an inner healer that knows what is needed to be balanced and whole. Whatever is essential for your healing will naturally come to surface.

 

  • Christine's role as facilitator is to accompany you, hold and honour sacred space and boundaries. She is the mentor that  reassures and reminds you that  your own wisdom can be trusted. How far and how fast the breather allow themselves to go is mitigated by the Ego and its defenses. The Ego ensures we remains safe in times of uncertainty and therefore your subconscious mind will only reveal what you are ready to uncover. ​

  • After session has concluded, together with Christine, you create your affirmation. 

​​

  • Christine provides a steady, reassuring, competent presence during and after a client’s breath therapy experience and assists with integration.. Integration is an important factor where individuals are encouraged to integrate their experiences through reflection, affirmation discussion, and various forms of creative expression. This helps to solidify the insights and healing gained during the sessions.​​

​

  • First sessions are 2 hours and following sessions are 1.5 hours in length.​​​

  • $150 per session.​
